51 people were killed and more than 200 were injured as a result of the attack of the aggressor country russia on Poltava. Under the procedural leadership of the Poltava Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense, a pre-trial investigation into the fact of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine has been launched.
The Prosecutor General’s Office announced this on Tuesday, September 3.
"According to the investigation, on September 3, 2024, the armed forces of the russian federation carried out an air attack on the city of Poltava, previously with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. The enemy targeted an educational institution and a hospital. As of 6 p.m., as a result of the attack, 51 people are known to have been killed and more than 200 wounded," the Prosecutor General’s Office informs.
As a result of missile attacks, one of the buildings of the Institute of Communications, a hospital and nearby houses were partially destroyed. Debris are currently being sought through, rescuers, an investigative team and other services are working on the spot. The number of victims is being clarified.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the afternoon of September 3, the russians fired two ballistic missiles at Poltava.
Starting tomorrow, September 4, a three-day mourning period for those killed in a missile attack has been announced in the Poltava Region.
