The U.S. presidential candidate from the Republican Party, Donald Trump, said that the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation could lead to the start of a new world war.
Trump made the corresponding statement during a speech to members of the U.S. National Guard Association in Detroit, his words are quoted by The Independent.
Trump called the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast, which many analysts associate with Kyiv's attempt to ease the pressure of the russian army on other areas of the front, another sign of the proximity of the Third World War.
"Look at what's happening in Ukraine. They're surging into Russia. You’re going to have World War 3," Trump said.
The publication notes that Trump is trying to direct his election campaign to political attacks on his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris.
To do this, Trump returned to his usual scheme, trying to present the current president Joseph Biden and Vice President Harris as people who are pushing the United States into the Third World War.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 27, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced that the Ukrainian military had taken control of 100 settlements in the Kursk Oblast.
On the same day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he considered the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast a success, despite the difficult situation in the Donetsk Region.
