President Volodymyr Zelenskyy considers the offensive operation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast successful, despite the situation on the Pokrovsk axis.
Zelenskyy said this at a press conference, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"In my opinion, it (the operation on the Kursk axis) is already successful. I really think so, and all my Western colleagues agree with me, and many solutions are already in place because of the success in the Kursk Oblast," he said.
In particular, according to him, the operation in the Kursk Oblast returned the world's attention to Ukraine and accelerated the adoption of decisions by partners in support of Ukraine.
He also noted that the Kursk Oblast is part of the plan he plans to discuss with the U.S. leadership in the fall, the main element of which is forcing russia to end the war fairly for Ukraine.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, one of the tasks of conducting an offensive operation on the Kursk axis was to divert significant enemy forces from other directions, primarily on the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove axes.
At the same time, according to him, the enemy is trying not to remove units from other axes, on the contrary, it is increasing its efforts on the Pokrovsk axis.
