Since the beginning of the day, russian occupiers have carried out 34 attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the Pokrovsk axis in the Donetsk Region. The enemy is trying to press particularly hard in the areas of Novohrodivka and Selydove.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces reported this in its evening operational update.
The General Staff said that the Pokrovsk axis remains the most difficult part of the front. As of 4 p.m., a third of all today's battles took place here.
The General Staff did not enumerate the settlements in the areas where hostilities are ongoing, noting at the same time that most of the fighting took place near Novohrodivka and Selydove.
"The defense forces, restraining the enemy onslaught, have already repelled a total of 23 enemy attacks on the axis. The others are ongoing," the message reads.
The General Staff emphasized that russian troops are suffering significant losses in attempts to break through the defense of the Ukrainian military.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 27, the authorities of the Donetsk Region increased the duration of the curfew in the front-line Pokrovsk and surrounding settlements.
Recall that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he considers the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast a success, despite the difficult situation on the Pokrovsk axis.
