Zelenskyy against forced return of evaders from abroad

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is against the forced return of Ukrainian men of mobilization age from abroad to Ukraine.

He said this at a press conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"I am only in favor of return, if Ukrainians return from abroad, but without coercion," the President said.

According to him, there are Ukrainians abroad who work and there are those who do not work.

"I don't want to characterize the Ukrainians who don't work there. But I really want them to return," Zelenskyy emphasized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Hungary has started evicting refugees from the western regions and Zakarpattia. Ukraine will not forcibly return men of conscription age from abroad. The spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Dmytro Lazutkin, said that the Territorial Centers for recruitment and social support abroad will not work. It was also reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted resolution No. 443 of April 23, 2024, which makes changes to the procedure for obtaining passport documents for men aged 18 to 60 who apply to the branches of SE Dokument abroad.
