The repair crews of the Ukrenergo National Power Company have resumed the power supply reliability of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (Zaporizhzhia NPP) after shelling by the aggressor country russia.
The press service of the Ukrenergo NPC reported this on Facebook on Friday, August 23.
The repairmen put the 330 kV high-voltage overhead line into operation and restored power to the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
"Currently, the Zaporizhzhia NPP is able to receive electricity from both the main and reserve lines. The reliability of the power supply of the nuclear power plant is at the proper level thanks to the work of the repair crews of the Ukrenergo NPC," the message says.
Ukrenergo reminded that one of the overhead power lines of the Zaporizhzhia NPP was disconnected by the defense action due to russian shelling. Repair crews had to wait for permission from the military to repair the damage and put the line back into operation.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 22, the Zaporizhzhia NPP was again on the verge of blackout due to russian shelling.
On August 14, IAEA observers were unable to gain access to the cooling tower of the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP, where the russians started a fire a few days ago.
Recall that on August 11, the russians started a large-scale fire on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia NPP they occupied.
