President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the border areas in the Sumy Region, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported to him about the operational situation in all areas of active hostilities.
Zelenskyy announced this in his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Visited the border areas of the Sumy Region and held a meeting with Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi and the head of the Sumy Military Administration. The commander reported on the operational situation in all areas of active operations, and in particular on the most difficult areas of the front. He reported on steps to strengthen the defense in the Toretsk and Pokrovsk Axes. In certain areas of the Kursk Oblast under the control of Ukraine is one more settlement, and we have replenishment of the exchange fund," the President said.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh, reported to him about the situation in the Sumy Region after the beginning of the Kursk operation, where, according to him, there has been a decrease in shelling from barrel weapons and a decrease in civilian casualties.
Zelenskyy noted that during the meeting special attention was paid to the coordination of actions between the military, the police and the State Emergency Service in the border areas, in particular for the organization of humanitarian convoys to certain areas of the Kursk Oblast.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 19, Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine controls 92 settlements in the Kursk Oblast, which is more than 1,250 square kilometers of territory.
Ukraine created the first military commandant's office on the territory of the Kursk Oblast of russia controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
