Military commandant's office in Kursk Oblast created in accordance with Geneva Convention and international law - Kostenko

Roman Kostenko, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, is convinced that the military commandant's office in the Kursk Oblast was created in accordance with the Geneva Convention and international law.

He told the Ukrainian News agency about this.

"Our commandant's office was created in accordance with our legislation, as well as in accordance with the Geneva Convention and international law. According to international law, the state that occupies part of the territory is, in fact, responsible for the population that is there," the MP emphasized.

In his opinion, establishing a commandant's office in the Kursk Oblast and restoring order there is "exactly a question of whether we comply with international law."
