The Czech Republic will buy ammunition for Ukraine with part of the proceeds from frozen russian assets in the EU.
The Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic Jana Černochová announced this on X (Twitter).
"Part of the revenues from the frozen Russian assets in the EU will go to supply Ukraine with ammunition, which will be purchased by the Czech Republic. This is what the European Union decided. Thus, we will be able to purchase hundreds of thousands more of such badly needed large-caliber shells for Ukraine," Černochová noted.
According to her, this is another demonstration of the confidence of foreign partners in the effectiveness of the Czech project.
"This is another proof of our allies' trust in the Czech Republic and our ammunition initiative. This is a unique opportunity to support Ukraine, use resources that originally belonged to Russia, and save the public finances of European countries," she added.
We will remind you that the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic is considering the possibility of creating a unit of Ukrainian citizens who live on the territory of the state and are subject to conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
