Residents of the Kursk Oblast of russia are being taken to health facilities in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
An employee of one of the peninsula's health facilities has informed about this, Suspilne Krym reports.
According to a local resident, on August 14, talks began in the city that Kursk residents would be brought to Crimea as refugees.
"We were told that it is quite likely that families with children will rest with us from the next shift. Those places that were free will be allocated for them. Now this issue is being resolved," he said.
The Deputy Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to ARC, Denys Chystikov, said that on August 14, information appeared that the regional branch of the Red Cross in the city of Kerch is initiating the transfer of residents of the border Kursk Oblast to the territory of the city of Kerch.
"They show that they have the capacity to provide for these people. It should also be noted that today there was information that 35 people have already arrived and settled in guesthouses in the city of Yevpatoria," the representative noted.
Denys Chystikov emphasized that such actions are a violation of the 4th Geneva Convention by the russian federation, specifically regarding the transfer of population from the territory of russia to the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. In this way, the russians continue the displacement of the population that has been happening since 2014. Then they began to mass import and initiate the transfer of people from the territory of the russian federation to Crimea under various programs.
"Crimea, it should be noted, acts as a regional center of the Red Cross, that is, in fact, the use of the humanitarian component by the Russian Federation in the interests of the occupation authorities. And also, the involvement of the Red Cross in war crimes. We draw the attention of the international community to the indicated situation, as well as the need to stop similar further actions and the removal of these citizens from the TOT of Crimea," he emphasized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, as of August 13, 74 settlements of the Kursk Oblast were under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On August 15, the Security Service of Ukraine announced that during an operation in the Kursk Oblast, it was possible to capture more than 100 soldiers of the russian army at one time.
On August 7, the "I want to live" project reported that the Ukrainian military captured three dozen occupiers during the offensive in the Kursk Oblast.
