Air Defense downs 5 enemy UAVs overnight

Overnight into Friday, August 16, russian troops attacked the territory of Ukraine with three Iskander-M ballistic missiles, three Shahed-type attack UAVs, and two unmanned aerial vehicles of an unknown type; the air defense forces managed to shoot down all five drones.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Telegram, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that the occupiers struck with missiles and drones from the Kursk Oblast.

"As a result of anti-aircraft combat by the mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces and the EW means of the Air Force, all enemy UAVs were shot down in the Poltava, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Odesa, and Mykolayiv Regions," the message reads.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, overnight into August 15, the russians attacked the territory of Ukraine with three Kh-59 guided air missiles and 29 Shahed-type UAVs; the Ukrainian military destroyed all 29 enemy drones.
