British weapons can be used by Ukrainian troops in operations on russian territory.
This was reported by the Reuters agency with reference to the statement of the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom.
A spokesman for the British Ministry of Defense said that Ukraine has a "clear right to self-defense against illegal attacks by russia" and "this does not exclude operations inside russia."
"During the donation process, we clearly state that the equipment must be used in accordance with international law," the spokesman emphasized.
This means that British tanks, anti-tank missiles and other military equipment provided to Ukraine could be used inside russia as part of Ukraine's defense against a russian invasion.
The department noted that the only restriction concerns the use of long-range Storm Shadow missiles.
"Restrictions on the use of UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles, which can only be used within the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine, remain in force," the ministry said.
As previously reported, Ukraine created the first military commandant's office in the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced 35 km deep and took control of 82 settlements.
