Cost of electricity for business in Ukraine higher than in Europe

In Ukraine, the weighted average price of electricity on the day-ahead market in July was EUR 134.4 per MWh, which is higher than in other European countries.

GMK-Center has informed about this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Thus, according to the data of the Market Operator, in Ukraine in July, compared to June, the weighted average price of purchase and sale of electricity on the day-ahead market increased by 10.4% to UAH 5,967.11/MWh (about EUR 134.4/MWh), and was higher than in other European countries.

At the same time, in the EU, the average monthly wholesale prices on the day-ahead market in July 2024 showed a mixed trend, in particular in Italy they increased by 8.9% to EUR 112.37/MWh, in France by 24.6% to EUR 47.09 EUR/MWh, in Spain - by 28.7% to EUR 72.4/MWh, while in Germany prices decreased by 7.1% to EUR 67.7/MWh, in Sweden - by 26.5% to EUR 21.1/MWh.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the National Commission for the State Regulation of Energy and Utilities increased the maximum prices for electricity for businesses since May 31.
