The disciplinary statute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is supplemented by a new provision.

It is assumed that during the period of martial law, officers deprived of their military rank in a disciplinary order are reinstated in their former military rank, regardless of the official position they hold, subject to positive attestation, by the orders of the commanders under whom they are in active military service, or persons equivalent to them and above.

In the absence of such an official (as a result of the disbandment, liquidation of the military administration body, etc.), the order is issued by a higher official who has the right to issue orders on personnel.

Prior to reinstatement of an officer in his former military rank and assigning him a regular rank, repeated deprivation of his military rank is not allowed.

A person reinstated in a military rank has the right to enjoy the rights and privileges established by law, in accordance with the reinstated military rank.

The main purpose of the law is to renew the rank of military personnel who were deprived of military ranks in the past in a disciplinary order, for exemplary performance of official duties and combat tasks in order to use their professional and organizational abilities, military and special training, and combat experience during martial law.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Serhii Kozyr, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction and a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, said that Ukraine plans to launch a hotline for military personnel, where they can report violations of their rights or wrongdoing by commanders.
