The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) special forces shot down a russian Mi-28 helicopter over the Kursk Oblast with the help of an FPV drone.
This was reported to the Ukrainian News Agency by sources in the SSU.
"The Security Service has yet another truly unique hit on an enemy target. Yesterday, soldiers of the Special Operations Center "A" of the SЫU shot down a russian Mi-28 helicopter with the help of an FPV drone. They shot it down over the Kursk Oblast of the russian federation," the interlocutors reported.
The SSU drone hit the rear propeller of the rotorcraft.
"The SSU has once again demonstrated a high professional level, a creative approach and the novelty of solutions used to destroy the enemy. We still have many unexpected surprises for the russians," said a source in the SSU.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, analysts of the Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState analyzed photo and video footage from the Kursk Oblast and concluded that the russian invaders lost at least two tanks and an attack helicopter.
On the evening of August 6, the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation deleted the message about the "withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine" from the territory of the Kursk Oblast. Earlier, before this, the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation announced the transfer of additional reserves, since the units of the russian army located in the border areas are not able to contain the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
