Transit of russian gas via Ukraine up 10.5% to 8 billion cubic meters in 7M

In the first seven months of 2024, russia increased the supply of gas for transit through the Ukrainian gas transport system to the European Union and Moldova by 10.5% year over year to 8.072 billion cubic meters.

The Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a representative of the Ukrainian GTS Operator company.

In July, Ukraine increased the transit of russian gas by 1.9% year over year to 1.32 billion cubic meters.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in July, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed that Ukraine does not want to extend the contract with russia for the transit of gas to Europe; instead, alternative suppliers, in particular Azerbaijan, are being considered.
