Ukraine has managed to return the bodies of 250 fallen defenders to the controlled territory.
It was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Soldiers were returned from the Luhansk, Bakhmut, Mariinka, Avdiivka, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia axes, as well as from Mariupol, Horlivka, and morgues on the territory of russia.
The bodies of the deceased will be transferred to designated state institutions, after which forensic medical experts will begin to establish the identities of the deceased. After that, the bodies will be handed over to their relatives.
The transfer of bodies of fallen soldiers is carried out in accordance with the norms of the Geneva Conventions.


As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the bodies of 212 fallen Ukrainian soldiers were returned to Ukraine on May 31.
In July, Ukraine returned another 95 defenders from russian captivity. At the same time, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, reported that a total of 3,405 Ukrainians had been returned from captivity since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the aggressor country of the russian federation.
