A Shahed drone hit a house of the russian oppositionist, former member of the State Duma of russia Ilya Ponomarev in the Kyiv Region, the ex-politician and his wife were injured.
Ponomarev announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"This thing exploded really hard, right in front of the door of the house, and a lot of fragments flew into me. Security officers who came quickly extinguished the fire, but there was a lot of blood, and I had to go to the hospital quickly, very quickly. Many thanks to the doctors (I, of course, admire how Ukrainian medicine works now, especially with regard to war injuries), they patched me up in two hours. So now I look scary, angry, sitting in the office and reassuring all my friends who are constantly calling me,” he wrote.
According to him, the day before, on the night of July 31, three drones fell near his house after air defense salvos, after which he had to order new windows, but tonight the attack was repeated.
The ex-politician believes that the hit to his house was not accidental, he is convinced that the russian authorities are trying to destroy him in this way.
On the air of the telethon, Ponomarev stated that the house was not hit by the debris of the drone, but that the drone exploded 5 meters from the house, it was not shot down by air defense.
The ex-politician has a wounded face. According to him, he and his wife have many injuries, his wife has a contusion, but nothing threatens their lives. He also noted that it is not possible to live in the house due to damage and safety issues.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, said that during the attack of the occupiers on the night of August 1, fragments of drones fell in the Kyiv Region, and two people were injured. He noted that the enemy is attacking the region with attack drones for the second night in a row, air defense forces were operating in the region, and all enemy targets were shot down.
In May 2019, Ponomarev announced that then president Petro Poroshenko granted him Ukrainian citizenship.
In March 2017, the Prosecutor General's Office instructed the Security Service of Ukraine to provide security for the wife of the murdered former russian State Duma member Denis Voronenkov, Maria Maksakova, and former russian State Duma member Ilya Ponomarev.
