In the Kherson Region, works on the construction of fortifications have been completed by 97%.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Today we are visiting the Kherson Region. We inspected the process of construction of fortifications. At the request of the Armed Forces command, we are constantly building and improving defensive lines. The head of the Regional Military Administration reported on the work in this direction. In the Kherson Region, the state of completion of construction works is now 97%," he said.
Shmyhal emphasized that the construction of fortifications is a priority task for every head of the frontline regions.
According to him, the government has allocated over UAH 2 billion to the Kherson Region for its implementation this year.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in April the Cabinet of Ministers allocated another UAH 8 billion for the construction of fortifications.
Then Shmyhal noted that since the beginning of 2024, almost UAH 38 billion has been allocated to strengthening the defense lines, and the government is not going to stop there.
In June, the head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration Filashkin reported that the third line of fortifications was 90% ready.
