US Department of State reacts to Kuleba's visit to China

In the US Department of State, direct communication between Ukraine and China is considered important, because this way Beijing will be able to learn directly about the losses and damages from the war waged by the russian federation. This was stated by the spokesperson of the US Department of State, Matthew Miller.

This is how the official commented on Dmytro Kuleba's visit to Beijing.

He reminded that the PRC helps fuel hostilities by supporting russia's defense and industrial base.

"We have always clearly stated that it is important for every country in the world to recognize that in this conflict there is an aggressor and there is a victim. And we should not treat the two sides as if they bear equal responsibility," Miller explained.

According to him, the representatives of the United States clearly emphasized this when they communicated with the Chinese side.

"I know that other NATO members and European countries have also made this clear to russia. And we believe that at any time it is important that any country - including China - hear directly (about the situation - ed.) from Ukraine," noted the representative of the US Department of State.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Kuleba will pay an official visit to China on July 23-25 to find ways to stop russian aggression and discuss China's possible role in achieving a sustainable and just peace. This is the first bilateral visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to China since 2012.

Regarding the visit to China, Kuleba noted that it is necessary to avoid competing peace plans, it is very important that Kyiv and Beijing conduct a direct dialogue and exchange positions.
