During the russian attack on the night of Saturday, July 20, the Air Force reported the downing of a drone of an unknown type. The media found out that this UAV attacked Kyiv, and also showed photos of its wreckage.
It was reported by Defense Express.
Yes, the publication received a photo of this downed drone from its own sources. It is indicated that according to them, we are talking about a UAV with a possible wingspan of more than 4 meters, feathering on beams, a pusher and a fuselage with a square profile.
Before that, photos of the wreckage of this drone, which is very different from the Shahed-136, were already published on the network. It was also specified that it attacked Kyiv and moved at an extremely low altitude of 20-30 meters, which suggests that it is most likely a kamikaze drone.
Defense Express notes that it may resemble the russian ZALA 421-20, which has certain similarities. However, this UAV belongs to reconnaissance, and therefore it is unlikely to fly at such a low altitude. In addition, drones of this type are not widely distributed and are unlikely to be produced yet, because ZALA started promoting this drone in the early 2010s, and now it does not even appear in the company's product catalog.

In the meantime, the remains of this drone are being investigated, and its capabilities, features, as well as the manufacturer and components from which it is assembled will be established in the near future.
Recall that on the night of July 20, air defense forces shot down 13 out of 17 drones and none of the four missiles launched by russia. One of the downed drones was also of an unknown type.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, meanwhile, on the night of July 21, 2024, the aggressor country russia attacked the territory of Ukraine with three Iskander-M ballistic missiles, two Kh-59 guided aerial missiles and 39 Shahed-type strike UAVs - of them 35 was shot down.
In particular, the wreckage of the drones fell on the territory of the Kyiv Region, but did not cause any destruction. The fire that started as a result of the fall was quickly extinguished.
