In russian Buryatia, more than 115,000 people were left without electricity as a result of the accident at the Gusinoozyorskaya power plant. Before the blackout, residents of Gusinoozyorsk heard an explosion.
The head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov has announced this.
According to him, at 5:35 p.m. local time (11:35 a.m. Kyiv time), one of the three power units of the Gusinoozyorskaya power plant was turned off.
As a result of the accident, there was a power outage in 75 settlements of the region. More than 115,000 people were left without electricity, 190 socially significant objects were cut off.
Tsydenov added that temporary power outages are possible in the region in the evening.
The reason for the shutdown of a power unit at the Gusinoozyorskaya power plant is being established.
The local publication Baikal Daily writes that before the power cut, residents of Gusinoozyorsk heard the sound of an explosion.
As the Ukrainian News agency previously reported, earlier today at the Rostov nuclear power plant, one of the reactors was shut down. Because of this, problems with electricity supply began in the occupied Crimea and the southern regions of the russian federation.
We will remind, on July 1, a large-scale power outage occurred in the Belgorod Region of the russian federation. The blackout began after a simultaneous drone attack on several substations in the region.
