France going to transfer Mirage 2000-5 fighters to Ukraine in record time

France can supply Ukraine with Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets in a much shorter time than expected - in a few months.

Ukrinform writes about this with reference to the statement of the Ambassador of France to Ukraine, Gael Vessier.

"Despite all our desire to do this as soon as possible, there are certain time limits that cannot be shortened. It is about training flight and technical personnel for these planes. But in general, I think it will take several months," the diplomat said.

At the same time, he refused to name the number of planes that will be transferred.

On June 6, French President Emmanuel Macron promised to transfer the Mirage 2000-5. Pilot training will last six months and will begin soon. Defense Express analysts suggest that the pilot training period could have been shortened. They also drew attention to the fact that the French press began to write about the training of Ukrainian pilots on the Mirage as early as March 2023.

The total number of Mirage 2000-5 currently in service with the French Air Force is 27 units. However, not all of them can be in flight condition.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, French President Emmanuel Macron said that several Mirage 2000 fourth-generation fighter jets will be transferred to Ukraine. Paris will also help Kyiv train pilots.
