IMF specialists arrive in Kyiv to discuss tax-budget plans of Ukrainian authorities

International Monetary Fund specialists arrived in Kyiv to discuss the tax and budget plans of the Ukrainian government.

This follows from a statement by the IMF, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"The team of IMF specialists led by Gavin Gray is starting meetings in Kyiv today with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and other partners. The discussions will focus on the government's tax and budget plans for the second half of the current year and the medium-term perspective," said Vahram Stepanyan, the permanent representative of the IMF in Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in June, the IMF Board of Directors completed the fourth review of the Enhanced Financing Program for Ukraine (EFF) and decided to provide about USD 2.2 billion in budget support for Ukraine.

With a tranche of USD 2.2 billion, the total amount of payments under the program is about USD 7.6 billion.

The EFF program for Ukraine for a period of 48 months with access to SDR 11.6 billion (equivalent to USD 15.6 billion) was approved on March 31, 2023.
