Zelenskyy expects G7 summit to develop coalition of fighter jets, strengthen air defense, and approve use of russian assets

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expects from the G7 summit in Italy the development of a coalition of fighter jets, the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense, the expansion of long-range capabilities, and the approval of the use of russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine.

Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In particular, he announced that he will participate in the G7 meeting today and hold a series of bilateral meetings.

Zelenskyy noted that a large part of the summit will be dedicated to Ukraine, its defense and economic stability, and Ukraine is waiting for important decisions today.

"The main topics for us are the development of the fighter coalition, the acceleration of pilot training, the accelerated supply of aircraft. The development of the Ukrainian air defense system based on the most powerful Western complexes and the expansion of long-range capabilities. The approval of the format of the use of russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine, in particular for the development of our defense industry, joint production of weapons," he noted.

Zelenskyy also announced that he will hold meetings with US President Joseph Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Canadian and British Prime Ministers Justin Trudeau and Rishi Sunak, European Council President Charles Michel and Managing director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy announced the signing of security agreements with the USA and Japan during the G7 summit in Italy.
