New passenger car sales up 8% to 5,500 in May

In May 2024, the sales of new passenger cars increased by 8% year over year to more than 5,500 units.

This follows from a statement by the Ukravtoprom association, the Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Among new passenger cars, Toyota cars were in the greatest demand in May – 928 registered cars.

Renault cars are in the second place (440 registered cars), BMW cars are in the third place in the ranking (418 cars), Volkswagen - in the fourth place (389 cars), Skoda - in the fifth place (318 cars).

Toyota RAV-4 was the most sold car in May (475 cars sold).

Since the beginning of the year, more than 27,700 new passenger cars have been registered in Ukraine, which is by 29% more than in the same period of 2023.

As the Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2023, the sales of new passenger cars increased by 60.6% year over year to almost 61,000 units.

In 2022, the sale of new passenger cars decreased by 63% year over year to 37.900 units.
