On May 2, a total of 134 combat clashes took place at the front; most of the enemy attacks were repelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Avdiyivka (50) and Bakhmut (22) Axes.
This follows from a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) posted on its Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
During the past day, the enemy conducted three missile- and 70 airstrikes and fired 116 rockets on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas using MLRSes.
As a result of russian terrorist attacks, civilians have been killed and injured, and a number of high-rise buildings and other civil infrastructure objects have been destroyed and damaged.
During the day, 134 combat clashes took place at the front.
On the Kupiyansk Axis, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 12 attacks in the areas of settlements of Novoiehorivka, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kyslivka, and Berestove of the Kharkiv Region; Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk Region.
On the Lyman Axis, the AFU repelled 15 russian attacks in the areas of Hrekivka, Nevske, and Serebrianske Forestry settlements of the Luhansk Region, as well as Terny, Yampolivka, and Torske settlements of the Donetsk Region.
On the Bakhmut Axis, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 22 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka settlements, Luhansk Region; Verkhniokamiyanske, Rozdolivka, Vyimka, Spirne, Novyi, Klishchiyivka and Ivanivske of the Donetsk Region.
On the Avdiyivka Axis, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 50 attacks in the areas of Arkhanhelske, Sokil, Semenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Novopokrovske, Umanske, Kalynove, Yasnobrodivka, Netaylove and Pervomayske settlements in the Donetsk Region.
On the Novopavlivka Axis, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Krasnohorivka, and Urozhayne settlements of the Donetsk Region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops 16 times.
On the Orikhiv Axis, the occupiers attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops twice in the districts of Staromayorskyi, Donetsk Region, and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia Region.
On the Kherson Axis, russian invaders are trying to knock out Ukrainian units from bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper River.
Over the past day, the russians have carried out eight unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops on this Axis.
On May 2, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck 11 personnel concentration areas and one enemy anti-aircraft missile complex.
Units of the missile forces damaged two ammunition warehouses, one anti-aircraft vehicle, two artillery systems, and one anti-aircraft missile system of the enemy.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 1, a total of 121 combat clashes took place at the front; the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled most of the enemy attacks on the Avdiyivka (39) and Novopavlivka (22) Axes.
