AFU repel 20 attacks on Novopavlivka Axis and 19 on Bakhmut Axis – General Staff

On April 16, a total of 68 combat clashes took place at the front; the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) repelled most of the enemy attacks on the Novopavlivka (20) and Bakhmut (19) Axes.

This follows from a statement by the General Staff of the AFU posted on its Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy has conducted two missile- and 64 airstrikes and fired 75 rockets using MLRSes at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

As a result of russian terrorist attacks, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population.

During the day, 68 combat clashes took place at the front.

The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations on the Kupiyansk Axis.

On the Lyman Axis, the occupiers attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders nine times in the Terny, Torske, and Hryhorivka Districts of the Donetsk Region and Serebrianske Forestry in the Luhansk Region.

On the Bakhmut Axis, the Defense Forces repelled 19 attacks in the areas of Verkhniokamiyanske, Vyimka, Bilohorivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, and Klishchiyivka settlements in the Donetsk Region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical position.

On the Avdiyivka Axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 attacks in the areas of Ocheretyne, Novokalynove, Berdychi, Semenivka, Netailove, and Pervomaiske settlements of the Donetsk Region.

On the Novopavlovsk Axis, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka settlements of the Donetsk Region, where the invaders tried 20 times to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian troops.

On the Orikhiv Axis, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders four times in the areas of Staromayorske, Donetsk Region, Robotyne, and northwest of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia Region.

On the Kherson Axis, the occupiers do not give up their intention to knock out the Ukrainian units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper River.

So, during the past day, the enemy made five unsuccessful attacks on AFU positions here.

During the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck six personnel concentration areas and two enemy control points.

Units of the missile forces hit one district of concentration of personnel of the occupiers.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 15, a total of 104 combat clashes took place at the front; most of the enemy AFU attacks were repulsed on the Bakhmut (33) and Novopavlov (30) Axes.
