Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, said on Sunday that the House plans to try again to vote on military aid to Israel in response to a large-scale attack by Iran.
This was reported by Axios.
It is currently unclear whether that aid will also include support for Ukraine and Taiwan, an issue that many Democrats believe is important to address at the same time as aid to Israel.
On Fox News, Mike Johnson recalled the failed attempt by House Republicans to approve aid to Israel, saying "we're going to try again this week."
"The details of this package are now being put together. We are considering options and all additional issues," he added.
Answering the presenter's question about aid to Ukraine, Johnson said: "We will prepare our package - we will prepare something and submit it to the Senate." He did not specify whether the package would be combined with aid to Israel or whether a vote would take place this week.
Several committee chairs who support Johnson said in Sunday interviews that they expect a quick vote on aid to Ukraine.
"I'm sure this issue will come up. I hope it will happen this week," said Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, adding that he planned to speak with Johnson on Sunday night.
It will be recalled that on April 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine will lose the war if the US Congress does not approve military aid to confront the aggressor state of russia.
Meanwhile, the US Senate announced a consensus on emergency aid to Ukraine and Israel.
