The Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company is ready to buy the entire volume of gas that Ukrainian private producers will offer to the market in 2024.
This follows from a statement by the company, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Also, the Board Chairperson of Naftogaz, Oleksii Chernyshov, at a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian mining companies, emphasized that, as last year, the company plans to forge gas from private producers through the mechanisms of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange.
According to the report, in addition to plans for cooperation for 2024, the meeting also discussed the conditions that the state should create to support Ukrainian mining.
In particular regarding the timely and transparent obtaining of special mining permits and other procedural points.
"What is happening today with Ukrnaftoburinnia is a very negative factor for the Ukrainian energy industry. Because of this, the country loses approximately half a billion cubic meters of gas every year, which could make us stronger and more stable in wartime," Chernyshov added.
According to the report, in 2023, Naftogaz purchased about 1 billion cubic meters of gas through the Ukrainian Energy Exchange. m of gas of Ukrainian private producers.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in April 2023, Naftogaz started purchasing gas from private gas production companies on the stock exchange.
In August 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers obliged the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company to buy gas from domestic private gas production companies.
