Great Britain will continue tax-free trade with Ukraine until 2029

Britain has said it will continue tax-free trade with Ukraine on almost all goods until 2029, giving Kyiv further favorable trading terms after the russian invasion.

This follows from an article by Reuters, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Britain scrapped tariffs on all its trade with Ukraine after the start of the war with russia two years ago, and they previously agreed that the arrangement would last until March 2024.

The UK Business and Trade Department said that tax-free trade would be extended for five years on all goods, except for eggs and poultry meat, which would be extended for two years, and that UK firms would also benefit from the removal of tariffs on export to Ukraine.

"This deal provides much-needed long-term economic support to Ukraine, its businesses and people, which is critical to its recovery," said Minister of State for Trade Policy Greg Hands, adding that Britain's support would continue "for as long as it takes."

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in May 2022, Ukraine and Great Britain signed an agreement on the abolition of import duties and tariff quotas in bilateral trade.
