In the explanatory note to both bills, it is emphasized that their adoption will contribute to the adoption of adequate measures aimed at repelling russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

Both bills are expected to enter into force after voting and signing on February 14.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 8, 2023, the Rada extended the period of martial law and general mobilization from November 16 for 90 days, i.e., until February 13, 2024.

On February 24, 2022, the Council approved the introduction of martial law by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in connection with the start of the war by russia and the announcement and conduct of general mobilization.
