Ukraine rose from 24th to 23rd place in the rating of the international association Worldsteel by the volume of steel production in January-November.
This follows from a statement by the Ukrmetalurgprom association, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to it, according to the results of production in January-November, Ukraine took the 23rd position among 71 steel-producing countries with a result of 5.71 million tons, which is 7.3% lower than in January-November 2022.
The first place traditionally belongs to China: Chinese metallurgists smelted 952.14 million tons in January-November, which is 1.5% higher than the indicator of January-November 2022.
China's share in world steel production is 55.5%.
The second place belongs to India (production increased by 12.1% to 128.2 million tons), the third place - to Japan (it decreased by 2.8% to 80 million tons), the fourth place - to the U.S. (it decreased by 0.5% to 73.9 million tons), the fifth - to russia (increased by 6.4% to 70.2 million tons), the sixth - to South Korea (increased by 1.1% to 61.3 million tons), the seventh - to Germany (decreased by 4% to 32.8 million tons), the eighth - to Turkiye (decreased by 6.1% to 30.5 million tons), the ninth - to Brazil (decreased by 7.1% to 29.3 million tons), the tenth - to Iran (increased by 0.7% to 28.1 million tons).
World steel production in January-November amounted to 1,715.12 million tons, which is 0.53% higher than in January-November 2022.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine took 24th place in the rating ranking of the international association Worldsteel in terms of steel production in 2022.
