Steel production down 7.3% to 5.7 million tons in 11M

In January-November 2023, steel production decreased by 7.3% or 450,000 tons to 5,707,000 tons compared to the same period last year.

This is stated in the information published on the website of the Ukrmetalurgprom association of metallurgical enterprises, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

For the first 11 months of 2023, compared to the same period last year, the production of pig iron decreased by 11.3%, or 696,000 tons, to 5.447 million tons, the production of rolled products - by 7.2%, or 378,000 tons, to 4.864 million tons.

As the Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in January-October 2023, steel production decreased by 13.2% or 682,000 tons to 5,844,000 tons compared to the same period last year.

In 2022, steel production decreased 3.4 times, or by 15,103,000 tons, year over year to 6,263,000 tons.

Also, in 2022, pig iron production decreased 3.3 times, or by 14,774,000 tons, year over year to 6,391,000 tons, and the production of rolled products - 3.6 times, or by 13,729,000 tons, to 5,350,000 tons.
