In the explanatory note to both bills, it is emphasized that their adoption will contribute to the adoption of adequate measures aimed at repelling russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 27, the Verkhovna Rada extended the period of martial law and general mobilization from August 18 for 90 days, i.e. until November 15.

On February 24, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada approved the introduction of martial law by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in connection with the start of the war by russia and the announcement and conduct of general mobilization.
