Finance Ministry places war bonds worth UAH 12 billion and USD 96 million

On October 31, the Ministry of Finance placed war bonds worth UAH 12.03 billion and USD 96 million.

This is stated in the notification of the Ministry of Finance, reports Ukrainian News Agency.

The ministry placed securities with a maturity of 8 months for UAH 2,723 million at 17.08% per annum, 1.7 years - for UAH 4,198 million at 18.03% per annum, and 3 years - for UAH 5,111 million at 18.82% per annum.

The securities denominated in dollars have a maturity of 1 year and a yield of 4.71% per annum.

On November 8, 2022, the Ministry of Finance issued war bonds for UAH 43.7 million, which is the smallest amount since the beginning of the war.

Before this, the smallest amount was involved on October 4, 2022 - UAH 44.5 million.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Finance previously announced that war bonds are primarily a tool to support the state budget during a full-scale invasion of the russian federation and not a tool for maximizing income from investment activities; therefore, military bond rates remain fixed.

The Ministry of Finance fulfilled the plan for borrowing to the state budget by 67.3% and attracted UAH 1,261.1 billion in 2022.

In the first nine months of 2023, the Ministry of Finance fulfilled the plan for borrowing from the state budget by 89% and attracted UAH 1,219.4 billion.
