As a result of a series of drone attacks on American bases in Iraq and Syria last week, more than two dozen American servicemen were injured.
NBC News writes about this with reference to the US Central Command.
Twenty US service members were slightly injured on October 18 when at least two strike drones targeted the al-Tanf military base in southern Syria, the publication said.
One of the drones was shot down. All wounded personnel returned to duty, no military facilities were damaged.
On the same day, four more US service members were slightly injured in two separate drone attacks against US and coalition forces stationed at Al-Asad Air Base in western Iraq.
The US shot down the drones, but the wreckage of one of them destroyed the canopy under which the small aircraft were. All injured personnel returned to duty.
Additionally, an American civilian contractor died of a heart attack, but not during the drone strikes.
Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder said on Tuesday that US and coalition forces have been attacked at least 10 times in Iraq and three times in Syria "by a combination of attack drones and missiles" in the past week.
Ryder said the groups carrying out the attacks are backed by Iran and its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Earlier it was reported that three American military facilities were attacked in Syria - the al-Tanf and al-Shadadi bases, as well as the al-Omar oil field.
The Pentagon confirmed an attempted attack on an American military base in Syria.
Meanwhile, the media reported that US military bases in the Middle East were under attack on Thursday: drones struck the US base in Al-Tanf in Syria and a missile attack took place at another US base in Syria - Conoco; the US also intercepted three strike drones in Iraq.
