SOF fighters destroy enemy's radar system Zoopark worth over USD 10 million

Soldiers of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have destroyed the Zoopark-1 enemy radar complex for reconnaissance and fire control on the Donetsk Axis.

This was reported by the SOF press service on Facebook.

"On the Donetsk Axis, the SOF hunted down a "fat" target - the Zoopark-1 reconnaissance and fire control radar complex. The operators of the 3^rd regiment detected and identified the enemy radar and adjusted artillery fire on it," the report says.

It is noted that as a result of the professional actions of Ukrainian soldiers, the russian army suffered significant losses.

Ukrainian defenders also showed footage of the destruction of enemy equipment.

Zoopark-1 is a radar complex for reconnaissance and fire control, which the russians use for counter-battery combat. The system allows the occupiers to find the firing positions of the AFU, from where MLRS (up to 22 km), artillery pieces (up to 12 km), mortars (up to 17 km), and tactical missiles (45 km) are launched, automatically determining their coordinates after firing.

One Zoopark is able to simultaneously detect up to 70 enemy positions per minute and transmit their coordinates within 20 seconds after the salvo, often before the shells fall. The information is automatically transmitted to the command post.

The cost of the Zoopark-1M system, according to Forbes, is estimated at USD 25 million.

According to other information, the estimated cost of Zoopark-1 is about USD 10-15 million.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, SOF forces showed how they destroy enemy equipment that moved in the Avdiyivka Axis.

Earlier, soldiers of the SOF showed how they captured russian paratroopers in Staromayorske, Donetsk Region. The operators discovered and blocked the enemy, and a battle ensued, during which the occupiers were forced to surrender. It is noted that during the clearing of the settlement, the SOF group of Ukraine discovered the staff documentation of one of the battalions of the 247^th Parachute Regiment of the russian federation.

Also, the SOF of the AFU conducted a special operation on one of the Dnieper River islands. Five occupants were neutralized, one boat was destroyed, and one more was damaged.
