In January-September 2023, Astarta (Kyiv), one of the largest sugar producers in Ukraine, increased sugar sales by 24%, or by 39,400 tons, to 202,853 tons compared to the same period last year.
This is stated in the message of the company, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
At the same time, during this period, average sugar sales prices increased by 29% to UAH 27,077 per ton.
Also, for the nine months, the company increased the sale of wheat by 5% to 69,159 tons and corn - by 12% to 318,769 tons.
Besides, during this period, the sale of sunflowers increased by 94% to 63,575 tons, rapeseed - 5.6 times to 14,852 tons, soybean meal - by 28% to 129,876 tons, while the sale of soybean oil decreased by 1% to 31,873 tons.
For the nine months, milk sales increased by 16% to 82,900 tons.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2022 the company reduced its net profit by 46.8%, or EUR 57.327 million, to EUR 65.164 million.
Also last year, Astarta reduced EBITDA by 23.2% to EUR 154.8 million, increasing revenue by 3.8% to EUR 510.1 million.
The company cultivates about 220,000 hectares in seven regions, has six sugar factories, dairy farms for 22,000 cows, and a bioenergy complex in Hlobyne, Poltava Region, which forms an industrial cycle with a sugar factory and a soybean processing plant.
40% of the holding company Astarta Holding N.V. is controlled by Viktor Ivanchyk through Cypriot Albacon Ventures Limited and 29.9% by Canadian Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd.
