Ukrainian agricultural enterprises have sown almost 4.5 million hectares with winter crops, including 1,124,000 hectares with winter rapeseed, 3,343,000 hectares with winter cereals (3,018,000 hectares with wheat, 260,000 hectares with barley, and 63,000 hectares with rye).
This follows from a statement by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Last week, farmers sowed 760,000 hectares of winter cereals and 13,400 hectares of winter rapeseed.
Farmers of the Volyn Region sowed the most winter grains — 97% of the forecast.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, farmers started sowing winter crops at the beginning of September.
