Ukraine needs more weapons, because the stronger it is on the battlefield, the stronger Kyiv's position at the negotiating table will be. For Ukrainians, weapons are the way to peace. This was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during the first Defense Industries Forum in Kyiv.
"Courage alone is not enough to stop drones, heroism alone cannot intercept missiles. Ukraine needs high-quality capabilities, in large numbers and quickly... There can be no defense without industry," Ukrinform quoted him as saying.
Stoltenberg also praised the ingenuity of Ukraine's defense industry and noted that it innovates "with lightning speed" in its production, from UAVs to demining equipment.
"The stronger Ukraine is on the battlefield, the stronger its position will be at any negotiating table. Therefore, although it may sound like a paradox, weapons for Ukraine are the way to peace," said the NATO Secretary General.
In addition, Stoltenberg assured that assistance to Ukraine from NATO will continue, and the member countries of the Alliance are doing everything to strengthen support. And the 2024 NATO summit, to be held in Washington on the 75th anniversary of the Alliance, should have great potential for Ukraine.
