After the development of the port corridors of the Baltic Sea, it will be possible to send about 10 million tons of Ukrainian grain through them annually.
This was stated by the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, writes European Pravda with reference to Delfi.
According to the head of Lithuania, although it is impossible to export as much grain as Ukraine exports through the main transit routes through the ports of the Baltic countries and Poland, if this alternative route is well developed, the total contribution of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia can be significant.
"Yes, we cannot compete with the main export channels of Ukrainian grain, (...) however, according to our calculations, subject to compliance with certain requirements, the transit of Ukrainian grain through the seaports of the Baltic countries and Poland can amount to 10 million tons per year. This would be an important part, an important support," Nauseda said after the Three Seas Initiative summit in Bucharest.
At the same time, he emphasized that the countries of the European Union should "do everything possible" so that Ukrainian grain can flow freely to international markets.
It will be recalled that earlier Kuleba criticized the EU countries for their intention to extend the ban on Ukrainian grain.
