Russian troops twice shell cathedral in Kherson in the morning, there are wounded

Russian occupiers shelled St. Catherine's Cathedral in the center of Kherson twice in the morning, 7 people were wounded, including 4 employees of the State Emergency Service.

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin and the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this in Telegram, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The head of the Regional Military Administration noted that as a result of the first shelling, three passengers of the trolleybus, which was driving past the cathedral at the time of the Russian attack, were wounded.

They were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

"A 39-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man are receiving medical assistance, an examination is being carried out. A 74-year-old man suffered severe chest injuries and a closed brain injury, doctors are fighting for his life," Prokudin wrote.

The occupiers struck the second blow during the liquidation of the fire in the cathedral by rescuers.

"During the extinguishing of the fire caused by shelling in St. Catherine's Cathedral, a second shelling took place. Four employees of the State Emergency Service were injured. All of them are hospitalized, they are provided with the necessary assistance," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

It is noted that special equipment was damaged as a result of the shelling.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of August 2, the occupiers fired at a residential quarter in the central part of Kherson, and two people were injured.
