In January-March 2023, real gross domestic product (GDP), according to operational data, decreased by 10.5% compared to the same period in 2022.
This was announced by the State Statistics Service, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Compared to the fourth quarter of 2022, GDP increased by 2.4% (taking into account the seasonal factor and excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol).
The State Statistics Service clarifies the indicators of the real gross domestic product during the year.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in October-December 2022, the real gross domestic product (GDP) decreased by 31.4% compared to the same period in 2021 to UAH 1,625.225 billion (in actual prices).
In 2022, the real gross domestic product decreased by 29.1% compared to 2021 (in constant 2016 prices) to UAH 5,191.028 billion (in actual prices) (excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol).
The state budget for 2023 was developed based on the macroeconomic forecast, which predicts real GDP growth by 3.2%.
In April of this year, the National Bank improved the GDP growth forecast from 0.3% to 2% in 2023.
The reduction of security risks from next year, which is assumed in the base scenario of the NBU forecast, will contribute to the acceleration of economic growth - up to 4.3% in 2024 and up to 6.4% in 2025.
