In May 2023, the total volume of trading on the PFTS stock exchange increased by 5% to UAH 29.5 billion over April 2023.
The exchange said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
In January-May 2023, the total volume of trading on PFTS amounted to UAH 118.3 billion (234% of the level of the same period in 2022 or 131% of the level of 2022), which makes 63% of the total volume of trading of securities trading organizers in Ukraine.
In the trading structure for May, the share of state bonds was 97.7% (UAH 28.8 billion), corporate bonds - 1.5% (UAH 0.5 billion), bonds of a foreign state - 0.8% (UAH 0.2 billion), and shares of Ukrainian issuers - 0.002% (UAH 0.1 million).
In the "market of applications" 24% of transactions were concluded, in the "market of quotations" (including address agreements) - 75% of transactions, in the modes of repo and auctions for initial placement of securities - 1% of transactions.
In May 2023, 40 bidders at PFTS entered into transactions with 41 issues of securities (government domestic loan bonds - 34, government foreign loan bonds - 1, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 4, bonds of a foreign state - 1, shares of Ukrainian issuers - 1).
In January-May 2023, 43 bidders entered into transactions with 71 issues of securities (government domestic loan bonds - 48, government foreign loan bonds - 3, shares of foreign issuers - 1, shares of Ukrainian issuers - 6, corporate bonds of Ukrainian issuers - 8, bonds of a foreign state - 5).
For the first time this year, a public placement of corporate bonds took place on the Ukrainian securities market.
PFTS placed 100,000 pieces of interest-bearing bonds of NovaPay Credit LLC with a face value of UAH 1,000 with a maturity date of April 14, 2026.
The interest rate on the bonds was set at 20%.
Among the 34 issues of government bonds with which transactions were concluded in May, 16 issues were with repayment dates in 2023 (UAH 14.3 billion), 10 issues - with repayment dates in 2024 (UAH 5.3 billion), 4 issues - with repayment dates in 2025 (UAH 6.4 billion), 2 issues - with repayment dates in 2026 (UAH 2.2 billion), and 2 issues - with repayment dates in 2027 (UAH 0.6 billion).
Since July 26, the PFTS has begun trading in foreign currency denominated government domestic loan bonds.
In May 2023, the volume of exchange contracts with government bonds, executed in the currency of denomination, amounted to USD 96.5 million and EUR 15.3 million (14% of the total trading volume).
The PFTS stock exchange is one of the largest organizers of securities trading in Ukraine.
As of May 31, 2021, the number of PFTS stock exchange members admitted to trading was 52: 31 banks and 21 financial companies.
352 issues of securities were allowed to trade on PFTS, of which 120 issues of securities were on the exchange register.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in April 2023, the total volume of trading on the PFTS stock exchange amounted to UAH 28 billion (114% of the level of March 2023), or 67% of the total trading volume of the organizers of securities trading in Ukraine.
The PFTS index has been the official index of Ukraine in S&P Emerging Markets since 1997.
