Banks in March 2023 issued 36 mortgages totaling UAH 38.8 million.
This is evidenced by the results of a monthly survey of banks on the volume of mortgage loans provided to the population, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The issuance of a new mortgage in March was informed by 2 banks that credited the purchase of housing exclusively at the secondary real estate market.
The weighted average effective mortgage rate was 14.0% in March (8.3% in February).
In the regional context, the largest number of mortgage loans in March was issued in the Kyiv Region - 14 contracts were concluded for a total amount of UAH 16.1 million (41% of the total).
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in February 2023, banks reduced mortgage lending by almost 3 times and issued 126 mortgages totaling UAH 169.8 million.
Banks of Ukraine in January 2023 issued 357 mortgages totaling UAH 449.5 million.
In 2022, the number of mortgages fell by 5.3 times to 2,009, with 2/3 of the loans issued before the outbreak of the pandemic.
