In the first quarter of 2023, steel production decreased 2.2 times, or by 2,123,000 tons year over year, to 1,809 million tons.
This follows from a statement posted on the website of the Ukrmetalurgprom association, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
In the first four months of 2023, the production of cast iron fell 2.2 times, or by 2,053,000 tons, year over year to 1.747 million tons, the production of rolled products - by 2.3 times, or by 1.926 million tons, up to 1.512 million tons.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2022, steel production decreased 3.4 times, or by 15.103 million tons year over year, to 6.263 million tons.
Also, in 2022, pig iron production decreased 3.3 times, or by 14.774 million tons year over year to 6.391 million tons, and the production of rolled products - by 3.6 times, or by 13.729 million tons year over year to 5.350 million tons.
