SSU Investigating Brutal Beheading Of Ukrainian Soldier By Occupiers

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) is investigating the brutal beheading by the occupiers of a Ukrainian soldier, the footage of which appeared online on April 11. This is stated in the message of the SSU, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Yesterday, a video appeared on the Internet showing the Russian occupiers showing their beastly nature - severely torturing a Ukrainian prisoner of war and cutting off his head. The Security Service of Ukraine has started a pre-trial investigation of this war crime under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the message says.

The head of the SSU, Vasyl Maliuk, emphasized that war criminals will be punished.

"We will find these inhumans. If necessary, we will get them wherever they are: from underground or from the other world. But they will definitely be punished for what they have done," Maliuk said.

In the evening of April 11, a video of the brutal murder of a Ukrainian prisoner was shared on social networks. The footage shows how a Russian soldier cuts off the head of a Ukrainian defender, who was still alive at the time, with a knife.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in March, the Main Investigative Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine began an investigation into the shooting of an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war by the Russian military for saying "Glory to Ukraine".
