The new package of military assistance from the United States to Ukraine will contain weapons and shells worth USD 2.6 million. It will include ammunition for Patriot and HIMARS, as well as anti-tank systems, small arms.
This is stated in the message of the U.S. Department of Defense, European Pravda reports.
"In addition, we are announcing a significant package of air defense capabilities, as well as artillery and tank ammunition, mortar systems, rockets, and anti-armor systems using $2.1 billion in Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funds,” the report said.
The aid package includes additional munitions for Patriot air defense systems and High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 155 mm and 105 mm artillery shells, 120 mm mortar rounds, 120 mm and 105 mm tank ammunition. In addition, 11 tactical vehicles to recover equipment, 61 heavy fuel tankers, 10 trucks and 10 trailers to transport heavy equipment, testing and diagnostic equipment to support vehicle maintenance and repair, spare parts and other field equipment will be provided.
Also, the U.S. Department of Defense will provide Ukraine with additional munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS), nine counter-Unmanned Aerial System 30mm gun trucks, 10 mobile c-UAS laser-guided rocket systems, three air surveillance radars, 30mm and 23mm anti-aircraft ammunition, 130mm and 122mm artillery rounds, 122mm GRAD rockets.
The United States plans to transfer to Ukraine rocket launchers and ammunition, 120 mm and 81 mm mortar systems and ammunition, 60 mm mortar rounds, 120 mm tank ammunition, Javelin anti-tank systems, anti-armor missiles, precision aerial munitions, approximately 3,600 small arms and more than 23,000,000 rounds of small arms ammunition.
The package also contains seven tactical vehicles to recover equipment, eight heavy fuel tanks and 105 fuel trailers, armored bridging systems, four logistics support vehicles, trucks and ten trailers to transport heavy equipment.
Also included in the package are secure communication equipment, SATCOM terminals and services, and funding for training, maintenance and sustainment.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the transfer of a package of assistance for USD 2.6 billion was reported on the weekend. Then it was known that the package would include airspace surveillance radars, anti-tank missiles and fuel trucks, weapons and a large amount of ammunition.
