Poland Transfers Several Of First MiG-29s To Ukraine

Poland transferred to Ukraine several of the first MiG-29 fighters.

The head of the Office of International Policy of the President of Poland, Marcin Pshidach, said this in a morning conversation on RMF FM, European Pravda writes.

"Undoubtedly, Ukraine will seek further support. Several MiGs have already been sent," Pshidach said. In response to the journalist's clarifying question, he noted that the fighters were sent by the Polish side.

Pshidach noted that, according to his information, the process has been completed in terms of the transfer of the first part of the aircraft. During the visit of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Poland on April 5, there will be a conversation about the transfer of further aviation units.

Pshidach did not specify how many aircraft Ukraine received in the first batch. But on March 16, Polish President Andrzej Duda announced the transfer of four MiG-29s to Ukraine in the coming days.

It will be recalled that Slovakia agreed to transfer 13 fighter jets to Ukraine.

Earlier, Zelenskyy thanked for the MiGs, but reminded that Ukraine still needs modern aircraft.

In addition, the Air Force stated that the MiG-29 fighters, which Ukraine receives from international partners, will only partially strengthen the capabilities of the Defense Forces.
